DISCUSS: teaching internet papersThis is a featured page

Subject: Elearning Mailing List/Discussion Board

Please pass this on to any members of staff using any elearning/online tools to support teaching & learning - not just Blackboard,
but a wiki, blog, podcast, website, discussion forum, etc.

During recent discussions with various colleagues, it has becomeapparent that there's currently no way for users of elearning tools
& technologies at Otago (whether that's Moodle, WebCrossing,podcasting, streaming, Blackboard, clickers, a website, or
something else!) to easily contact each other, share information &new ideas, or ask for guidance from peers. As a response to this,
I would like to gauge interest in setting up either an "eLearningDiscussion" email list or discussion board (the latter could easily
be done in a Blackboard paper).

If you would be interested in either of these options, could youplease let me know which one you prefer:
1. An email list;
or
2. A discussion forum in a Blackboard paper.

Either would be opt-in. If I receive enough interest, I'll set upwhichever option receives the most "votes".

Regards,

Annemaree

Who here is currently teaching or planning to teach in the immediate future a paper on internet issues? I have a paper in proposal for a 200-level special topic on the social life of the internet, which intends to be a fairly broad-brush paper for communications students new to internet studies.

Anyone else?
